Tua Tagovailoa gets called out on Twitter after Dolphins post video of him underthrowing Tyreek Hill
Tua Tagovailoa has a new WR1 to throw to heading into the 2022 season with the Miami Dolphins.
Former Kansas City Chiefs star WR Tyreek Hill, perhaps the fastest player in the NFL, joins a Dolphins receiving corps that already contains speedy former Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle.
But, on Wednesday, Tagovailoa took some heat on Twitter after a video was posted by the Dolphins’ team Twitter account showing him underthrowing the speedy Hill:

As you can imagine, social media had plenty of jokes about Tagovailoa’s underthrow, questioning why the Dolphins would post that video:
Tyreek over there fair catching that!

Imagine bragging on your QB under throwing his WR1 without coverage and in his underwear… https://t.co/53TCgva3Nt

The @MiamiDolphins keep posting videos of Tua Tagovailoa under throwing Tyreek Hill, and you have to think itβs on purpose at this point. #Dolphins https://t.co/lhve6XEgxQ

Obviously, this is a workout before the NFL preseason even starts, so there’s plenty of time for the Tagovailoa-Hill connection to blossom. The Dolphins will need it to improve in order to compete for a playoff spot in 2022.
This made me laugh! Great job!
The off season is tough on sports writers. The bar is very low for topics they will write about. Like this topic.
Well you just have to believe out of the 15 or 20 throws they had to choose from this was still the best one to hype. In all fairness to the Dolphins marketing team, comparatively speaking it probably looked pretty good to them.
The off season is meant to establish timing with your receivers. Especially ones brand new to the team. Nothing to see here other than the fact that Tua and Tyreek hill are working on that chemistry.
“Nothing to see here” you got that right.
Drew Lock.
…could definitely make that throw. Miami should have traded for him.
Lock is garbage as a QB.
Tua is a backup quarterback at best.
Tua throws that slant better than any QB I’ve seen….at least at Alabama he did.
Joe Burrow would like a word with you.
You may be the biggest homer on this site…
Geaux…on the slant I’d still take Tua. Loved watching Joe in 2019…that year for LSU was when “The plan came together.
LOL! Haters are going to hate. What QB has not under thrown a pass? Especially to a very fast receiver that you have just started throwing to.
So all qbs must have immediate timing and chemistry with receivers they just started throwing to⦠why are there even practices
You got it. Tom Brady threw a terrible pass to Julian Edelman in the Super Bowl that became legend. No one was saying Brady was no better than a backup.
This was my thought, it takes time to develop chemistry and figure out rhythm and timing. If they can get it figured out, the Dolphin offense will be fun to watch with 2 speedy and talented receivers.
Has to get used to that speed!
