Arkansas loses guard with starting experience to NCAA transfer portal
Arkansas has made back-to-back Elite Eight runs in the NCAA Tournament and will be one of the favorites to win it all this coming season.
As the Razorbacks prepare for the 2022-23 season, though, they will have to deal with another transfer portal loss.
On Thursday afternoon, guard Jaxson Robinson, who transferred to Arkansas from Texas A&M prior to last season, announced on Twitter he was exploring his portal options:

Robinson appeared in 16 games for the Hogs this past season, making 4 starts. He averaged 3.4 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest.
Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but his time in Fayetteville appears to be coming to an end.
Best of luck Jaxson. He’ll find a good landing spot. We needed the scholly for the incoming transfer Ricky Council. Once we get him then I beleive our roster will be set. Devo and Kamani only two remaining players from last year. That is if Jayloin doesn’t return which I would say is not likely.
I hope this move isn’t being done for Council, but to make room for Jaylin to return instead, but I’m afraid you’re probably correct. If so, I don’t understand this move, as we would be losing the only decent 3-pt shooter we had, with 3-pt shooting being, by far, our biggest weakness. Council isn’t a great shooter either. Regardless, I hope Jaxson wasn’t pushed out, or “processed”, by Muss. While within the rules, processing guys out to make room for others is really distasteful. I hope Jaxson left on his own accord. Sad that this is what college sports are devolving into, with zero loyalty by players and coaches, and players becoming mercenaries. Jaxson looks like yet another player to play for 3 or more schools in their college career.
Processing out by teams or players leaving via the portal. One or the other, that’s where we are at. It’s like Darwin’s rule of college athletics. some players leave because they can’t get playing time and want to play. some players, like Mike woods, left for “greener” pastures that didn’t turn out to be so green.
Muss is trying to build a championship team. Jaxson doesn’t fit into the rotation and he knows it. He will be able to go play somewhere though. Kamani doesn’t look to get much playing time next year either. Neither do Dunning, Ford or Pinion. That leaves one or two others from Devo to the 5* freshmen to the transfers that aren’t going to play as much as they thought either.
