Javian Hester, former Mizzou 4-star WR, announces transfer commitment
Javian Hester was the top-rated player in Mizzou’s 2020 recruiting class, coming to Columbia via Tulsa, Oklahoma.
However, following spring practices this year, Hester entered the NCAA transfer portal. He amassed 12 catches for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns in 7 games for the Tigers this past season.
Now, he’s heading back to his home state. Hester took to Twitter this week to announce he was committing to Oklahoma to play for the Sooners:
I’m all in! Sooner nation let’s goo! I’m coming back home🙏🏾#blessed #GODsPLAN @OU_Football @LWashington_2 @OU_CoachGundy @Coach_Leb @CoachVenables pic.twitter.com/to2qNOSh8q

Oklahoma is entering a new era under coach Brent Venables after Lincoln Riley left Norman for USC. Dillon Gabriel is expected to be the starting QB in 2022.
What sort of role will Hester carve out for himself with the Sooners? We’ll find out starting this fall.
I’ll bet he’s fast. If not he’ll be the first guy named Hester that I’ve ever seen that wasn’t!!! LOL
Negan
Come on negan.i give you props for being UGA s top recruiter on SDS so next time you get on here and say I bet he’s fast. You have to say it with conviction, to like he’s fast or like he’s real fast boys. Come on Negan you know this you wana be the ace recruiter act like it dam it.
I guess we’ll see if he’s any good, or if he’s what Mizzou’s coaches thought.
I suppose it’s a good sign when we have 4-star guys leaving because they can’t win a starting job. Our receivers are going to be good this year.
Bazelak did what he was told, he kept the defense wondering what receiver was going to get the ball The best Tiger receiver that should have gotten the ball more was NOT Hester but Hester did well, Hope he gets yards and enough attention to help his team win in a pass conscious Big 12
He kept the defenses wondering why he was starting.
Particularly after he got hurt
Although Missouri’s QB bench showed promise, neither clearly illustrated they could out-perform Bazelak for 60 minutes. One has a significant arm motion tech problem that virtually assured incompletions/interceptions. The other didn’t seem to have the maturity needed but I do think both could grow into the job after sacrificing a few wins. Bazelak will do well in his next job but he’s not impossible to beat out. Missouri’s 2022 qb job is now a four horse race. Good luck guessing the winner but I can at least think their are only 3 possibilities for game 1
