Andersson Garcia, who has multiple years of eligibility remaining, has announced his transfer destination from Mississippi State, and he’ll continue to play in the SEC.

Garcia, who had his best game as a Bulldog earlier this season against Texas A&M in the regular season, will join the Aggies. Garcia had a career-high 14 points against the Aggies in the regular season finale and also added 6 rebounds. Overall, Garcia averaged 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Garcia entered the transfer portal about a week ago.

“I have also enjoyed getting to know Coach Jans and his staff and know the future is bright in Starkville,” Garcia wrote on social media after he became the eighth player from the Bulldogs to announce plans to transfer after the coaching change.

Garcia’s role increased significantly for Mississippi State as the season progressed. He played 33 games, and the first 30 off the bench before becoming a starter ahead of D.J. Jeffries.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound wing last season collected 13 rebounds against Auburn and 14 against South Carolina just over a week later. Garcia had 2 games where he did not collect a rebound and had 14 games where he had at least 5 rebounds.
