That's nice, thanks for those kind words n8rg8r... Back to my earlier question, what 3* OL did FU have drafted in the first round recently, by the Jags, wasn't it?
I'm confused Gabe...I know, imagine that... Bama skull drug UGa as you like to say, in the meaningless SEC championship game only to be skull drug by UGa in the CFP finale. You say (cry) it was because of Metchie and Williams, but you never talk about how that Bama Oline allowed ZERO sacks and only 4 TFLs in Atlanta...only to turn around and give up 4 sacks and 9 TFLs. My question is this, besides Metchie and Williams, was your entire offensive line injured in Indy as well? I mean, it's not like UGa's offensive line played any better in either game, they gave up 3 and 5 sacks and 7 TFLs in both games, so what gives? Looks like to me BY didn't have time to get comfortable in game 2...
Between the 3 teams in the article, so do I, boxster, slight edge BucknutU... As for overall toughest schedules Bama probably has the 5th toughest schedule in the SEC West behind Arky-LSShoe-aTm-Aubie-Ms St, throw in SC-TN-Vandy, it's hard to imagine Bama's schedule ranking any higher than 9th or 10th in the conference alone...definitely subject to change as the season progresses.
And yet your subjective opinion based on objective assumption points out that the loss to sub .500 SC did more to knock them out of title contention in 2019 than the loss to LSU...interesting, yes? Fact based? Not a chance... Very nice talk, stay well.
Still would not have mattered "if" what? Just like losing to LSShoe in 2018 would not mattered if what?
is another factor why "I think" BucknutU wins the preseason hardest schedule trophy… Yep, sounds like fact to me. Perplexed by the million dollar question BT? Let me help you out here, don't want you to waste moderation of comments time trying to figure it out, my opinions were subjectively driven by objective assumptions, none of which should be confused with facts, it is almost impossible to derive facts from the future, does that help? Great talk, have a blessed day
Simple answer, Gabe...Kirby played Nick in Atlanta and the old man fell for it...lose the battle, win the war. Nick is 4-1 and Kirby has a 1 game winning streak because of it. I bet this year Nick won't sit his backups late in games just so his QB can put up Heisman stats, there is no team in Heisman....
Here's a question that will keep you perplexed the rest of the day, probably the rest of your life, was my opinion subjective or objective? Nice talk, have a good day.
Negative...2018 did not knock us out, the Bama loss did. 2019 the better team won. Good thing the LSShoe vs UGa schedule was kind the past two seasons while your dumpster fire raged...
You make very good points and I do know that, hence the "SEC West has certainly been the toughest division in college football recently" part. Outside of the division I just don't see any competition for Bama. Outside of Ohio St's division they play arguably the two toughest teams in the crossover games, so whatever edge Bama holds in division difficulty, they lose in cross over and OOC games. Ohio St only playing 3 OOCs (2 cupcakes) vs Bama playing 4 (3 cupcakes) is another factor why I think BucknutU wins the preseason hardest schedule trophy...
I hope that depth will be the difference, not sure if Dan retained any of the previous Oregon offensive staff, they have a history of running the type of offense that gives us the most fits.
Knowing Dan's attention to detail while he was coaching at UGa, he will have the Ducks ready for a good game, and no one knows Kirby's defense better...
I like Bama and BucknutU's chances better than ours as teams will be motivated to take down the National Champs and early in the season we will still be figuring out our defensive harmony. I do believe that UGa will be the toughest out of the 3 going into late season but deep down inside I can see an overconfident loss in Sept-Oct that refocuses and reinvigorates my pups for a strong finish. Beamer is a great hire and a great person, pulling for your Coots except against my pups...
I hear you, Phil. But to the point, we'll never know, as Arizona St and Ohio St weren't even considered for a shot at the crown due to Bowl Alliance ban. If nothing else, FU being "chosen" #1 in 1996 certainly expedited the cutting of strings to bowl tie-ins...shame they weren't provided the opportunity to indisputably prove they were the best. They certainly were a great team of the time...
You and Gabriel would make a nice WWE tag team, public enemy #1 has a few openings...I miss Rocco and Johnny, steroids took their lives way to early...
GFA, they play in that same tournament every year, it is a huge charity raiser at their club, but they certainly don't play together in the same 4-some...
I don't know about much tougher... Utah State, at Texas, ULM and Austin Peay non-conference...nothing screams difficult here with the exception of, nah, Texas sux...nod to UGa and BucknutU out of conference with Oregon and ND... The SEC West has certainly been the toughest division in college football recently...nod to Bama over UGa, arguably BucknutU will face as many as 6 ranked opponents in the B10 Vanderbilt and Tennessee as cross over games...can't get much easier than that...nod to BucknutU with cross over games against top 25 teams Iowa and Wisconsin BucknutU Number of potential ranked opponents: 6 Bama Number of potential ranked opponents: 5 UGa Number of potential ranked opponents: no dawg in this opinionated fight...advantage BucknutU The humpy conclusion - hardest schedule BucknutU, second (just like the CFP final) Bama, a distant third with clearly the easiest schedule of 3- my pups...I predict all 3 teams will have 1 trip up game loss by season's end.
And yet, once again, only one of the top 4 Basketball teams made it to the final 4
Not - a - chance...Kirby won't even play golf at the country club with Dan. Ok, there's always a chance I suppose, but doubt it
You know what, Nash...I absolutely agree. Let me fix it for you, tho... "offensive line recruiting similar to the previous Muschamp-Durkin-McElwain-Shannon-Mullen-Knox coaching staff’s success (or lack thereof) is preposterous and ludicrous." There ya go, much better, yes?
nice sidebar, Nash...glad FU alum can make money once they leave G-ville, but this storyline is more about FU actually do the paying to make those fellas millionaires
Florida was not the best in 1996, they were one of the best, they didn't get to play the other best...because the Pac-10 and Big Ten Conferences were not yet part of the Bowl Alliance. Now had Florida played Ohio St before or after the FSU rematch, your cup would hold water...in 2006 a Boise St finale would have been entertaining...in 2008 the Utes (selected national champions by Anderson & Hester after beating the Alabama Crimson Tide) vs FU would also have cemented an indisputable champ...as for 1980, clearly ND did not deserve a shot at the crown, should have been Pitt or maybe NC, but early invitations were the method of madness way back then...glad nowadays there is no dispute...none-zero-nada
I only see one example that includes multiple playoff games
Likewise, smitty. It is nice to talk football with a side dish of ribbing, as opposed to spending all your efforts moron hunting...cheers mate.
But Pouncey was not drafted by the Jags...just sayin
